Cancer Research at the CCC Mainfranken
The “Center of Experimental Oncology” (CEO MF) forms a crucial link offering translational research capacities between basic science and the more clinically oriented research and houses the core research groups of the CCC Mainfranken. Cancer Research at the CCC MF integrates a broad range of experimental approaches and research groups. Our research focuses on four main topics.
- We aim to identify novel regulating circuits and molecules that can serve as diagnostic tools and therapeutic targets. > Molecular Targets and Biomarkers
- In a second research area we aim explore novel strategies to enable the immune system to specifically attack cancer cells. > Immunotherapy
- A third research area aims to improve the use of radiation for the detection and treatment of tumors. > Targeted Radiotherapy and Molecular Imaging
- Finally, we use advanced sequencing technologies to analyze the genome of individual tumor patients and use this information to identify optimal treatment strategies. > Translational Next Generation Sequencing
We are optimistic that our research will contribute to a better understanding of how cancers grow and identify novel strategies for treating cancer patients. Please have a look at the pages of the individual research groups to learn more about our research. And please do not hesitate to contact any of us if you have questions about our work.
With kind regards,
