SFB/TR240 - Platelets Z03
Project Z03 as part of the Collaborative Research Centre / Transregio 240 "Thrombocytes"
Thrombocytes play an important role in the closure of injured blood vessels, but they also trigger blood clots that can lead to heart attacks and strokes. New studies have provided evidence of links between platelets and various inflammatory processes in the body, cellular defence mechanisms and the development of tumours. The investigation of these molecular functions of platelets is a prerequisite for a better understanding of cardiovascular diseases and the development of new therapeutic concepts.
The Collaborative Research Centre Transregio SFB/TR 240 "Thrombocytes - molecular, cellular and systemic functions under physiological and pathological conditions", funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) between 2018 and 2023, aimed to investigate these complex issues using an interdisciplinary approach. The TR240 ended in 06/2023.
