BRE-BY-MED / digiOnko

On 1 January 2021, the model project  "BRE-BY-MED" was launched.

The model project aims to contribute to high-quality and patient-centred care by compiling the care structures and surveying the quality of life and needs of patients with advanced or metastatic breast cancer in the Mainfranken region.

The basis of the model project is the development of a reliable information base on the treatment and course of treatment of patients with advanced or metastatic breast cancer, particularly from the patient's perspective. Therefore, the model project relies on the support of all those involved in the diagnosis and treatment.

Furthermore, within BRE-BY-MED relatives of affected patients will be interviewed to assess their individual needs and experiences in the course of the treatment.

The special feature of the BRE-BY-MED registry is the integration of different perspectives (e.g. patient, relative, doctor) and different data sets (e.g. routine data from the Bavarian cancer registry with (primary) data from the BRE-BY-MED study).
