Abstract: Polyneuropathy (PNP) refers to a range of conditions characterized by damage to the peripheral nervous system. It impacts approximately 5-8% of the population. Our recent study introduced a super-resolution fluorescence approach capable of identifying abnormalities in the nodes of Ranvier structure and organization within sural nerve (and skin) biopsies from patients with PNP. We found that particularly a combination of high-content and dSTORM methodologies for PNP is promising to achieve greater precision, increased reliability, and reduced invasiveness for patients undergoing diagnostic procedures.
