Structured training programme
Else-Kröner Fellows benefit from a structured training programme with seminars, guest lectures, joint retreats and regular meetings with the supervision committee, which consists of a scientific and a clinical supervisor as well as a clinic director.
During the three years, the Else-Kröner-Fresenius Fellows will work on a project of their choice in a twelve-month rotation in a research laboratory. No clinical obligations may be imposed on the fellows during this protected period.
Internship
In addition, the Fellows are given the opportunity to broaden their horizons of experience through an external three-month internship.
Clinical studies
The remaining time serves for the purposeful, clinical training as a specialist doctor, whereby a participation in clinical studies (e.g. in a clinical study center like the Early Clinical Trial Unit) is planned and the offered training as an investigator is to be taken up.
The training blocks can also be divided into several smaller time units in agreement between the Fellow and the Supervision Commission. The individually adapted training program is recorded in a supervision agreement.
