Marc Vila Cuenca

Marc Vila Cuenca is a Senior Postdoctoral researcher at the Orlova Lab in the Anatomy and Embryology department and CADASIL research group in the Clinical genetics department from the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). He has received his PhD in 2019 at the Amsterdam AMC about vessel dysfunction upon kidney disease. In his current position at the LUMC, he works with iPSC-based 3D vessel-on-chip system to model hetero-cellular endothelial and vascular smooth muscle cell cross-talk in order to study vascular development and recapitulate hereditary vessel diseases such as CADASIL. His research also focuses in the vascularization of 3D iPSC-models such as cardiac microtissues or organoids by using vessel-on-chip technology.
