Martina Calore
Martina Calore is Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics (DMG) at Maastricht University (The Netherlands). She is mostly recognized by her studies on the genetic causes and mechanisms underlining arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM), contributing to the identification of novel disease genes and to the characterization of in vivo mouse models. More recently, she has been focusing her research on the role of microRNAs in ACM. Currently, she is involved in the establishment of novel in vivo and in vitro models for the disease as a platform to study its pathogenesis and to test novel therapeutic solutions.
