Dr. Grün heads a Max-Planck research group at the MPI Freiburg where he develops quantitative single-cell sequencing, imaging-based transcriptomic, and computational machine learning approaches to advance the study of complex tissues and diseases (https://www.ie-freiburg.mpg.de/de/gruen). His research interests span from development, hematopoiesis and immunology to the functional microarchitecture of tissue niches in health and disease (Grün et al., Nature Methods 2014, Nature 2015, Cell Stem Cell 2016; Herman et al., Nature Methods 2018; Aizarani, Nature 2019, Zeis et al., Immunity 2020). Supported by an ERC Consolidator Grant he investigates the hematopoietic bone marrow niche by combining single-cell sequencing and genome-wide single-molecule FISH imaging, facilitated by the development of novel artificial intelligence and computational machine learning methods.
The seminar is hosted by the Würzburg Institute of Systems Immunology and will take place at the RVZ/HIRI with limited restricted access only upon prior registration.
